Effective from January 1, 2014, Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, and Head of Delegation, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, becomes the Alternate President for the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, for the next one year.

 

The federal government may have made good its plan to ban importation of fish and other food products into the country.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the federal government has stopped importation of fish into the country since October 31 this year.

A concessionaire of a leading fish terminal in Apapa Port told our correspondent in an exclusive interview that the terminal and other terminals have stopped receiving fish product cargoes, which Bill of Laden were dated later than October 31, as they have been directed to do so by the federal government.

South African Government has announced the death of Nelson Mandela. South African president Jacob Zuma announced that the former president and anti-apartheid revolutionary passed away peacefully in the company of his family in his home in Johannesburg around 8:50 this evening Dec. 5th. He was 95 years old.

The Conoil filling station opposite NNPC Towers along Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja, went into flames on Thursday as a tanker discharged the 33,000 litres of petrol it delivered.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the fire started at about 3 p.m., forcing offices around the petrol station to close.
